Governance
The Nutrition Society is governed by a Board of Trustees elected by our members. Our Trustees, traditionally called Honorary Officers, are elected for a three year term, after which they may be re-elected for another three years. However, they cannot serve more than two terms concurrently.
Our Trustees, headed by our President, collectively set the strategic direction of the Society and oversee all of our activities. Their decision making is assisted by the Advisory Council. The Nutrition Society is a registered charity and as such our Trustees have legal responsibilities to act in accordance with the laws governing all charities, overseen by the Charities Commission.
