Laura Kirwan, the outgoing Student Representative on the Irish Section says:

“I was delighted to be nominated as Student Representative of the Irish Section in 2018. It has been an amazing experience and I got to work with two other fantastic student representatives, Orlagh Feehan and then Lauren Devine from NICHE, on improving the student experience in nutrition, in Ireland.

It is a brilliant opportunity to work with the members of the Nutrition Society Irish Section committee, and to represent nutrition students at various meetings and events. I have gained skills in communication, social media, marketing and event management (to name a few), and in a really enjoyable environment.  I would really encourage anyone interested to apply, and to look for nominations in their University.”

Why is it important for Irish Section Members to vote?

  • Important to be engaged with the NS Student Section and to have your say
  • Vote for someone approachable who you feel comfortable to contact regarding NS queries
  • Vote for someone passionate about the NS and nutrition in Ireland
  • To make sure your voice is heard

Elections for the Scottish Section take place early in the new year and there are no current vacancies at this time.
